Lakeside Institute welcomes new deans!

Every three years, Lakeside Institute changes our leadership by welcoming in new deans. The deans work hard all year long to plan for camp. They work with Lakeside Chautauqua Association to reserve facilities, plan and review contracts, develop our volunteer staff and chaplains, and much more!

To our deans who have lead the camp for the last three years, Brian Riggs & Kim Smallman:

We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible service as deans. Your dedication, leadership, and unwavering faith have made a profound impact on all of us.

Your commitment to creating a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment allowed us to grow in our faith and create lasting memories. We are truly blessed to have had you both as our deans, guiding us with grace and wisdom throughout this summer camp journey.

Thank you for your tireless efforts in making Lakeside Institute an unforgettable experience. Your kindness, patience, and love for the Lord have inspired us all. We feel truly blessed to have shared these last three summers with you as our leaders.

May God continue to bless you in all your endeavors, thank you for being a beacon of faith and for serving as shining examples of Christ’s love.

We would like to welcome our new deans, April Andrick & Dylan John who have graciously offered to lead our camp for the next three years. April serves as the Director of Youth Ministry at her home church, Hilliard United Methodist Church, in Hilliard, Ohio. She is thankful to have already served on staff for Lakeside Institute for 9 years and is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve. She believes Lakeside Institute is important for youth & young adults because it gives them space, away from expectations and influences of family & friends, to explore their individual relationships with Jesus. This exploration helps lead to a more personal and authentic relationship with Christ, which will help them navigate life once they move out of their childhood homes and fully into the adult world. Dylan is the site manager at Camp Asbury in Hiram, Ohio. He has served on staff for Lakeside Institute for many years and has also served previously as the dean of men. He has a servant leadership mentality, he believes in serving others and creating loving communities in the name of Christ.

We would like to welcome April & Dylan and are excited to see where and how Lakeside Institute grows in the next three years!

Below you will find the link to the Staff Application for Lakeside Institute 2024.

This year, we really want to focus on the intentionality behind everything we do in preparation for; and during the week of, camp. This focus on intentionality encompasses the approach to the application process as well. We want to encourage each of you to spend time in prayerful reflection before moving into the application process. Applications will be received through October 31.

May peace be with you as you discern.

With Love,

April & Dylan
